AI startup Reflection has signed on to lease compute capacity from neocloud Nebius.

Reflection revealed the contract on July 14, noting that it has a value of more than $1 billion, as per a report from Reuters.

The deal will give Reflection access to Nvidia GPUs via Nebius' cloud platform. Information about the duration of the contract and the number of GPUs has not been provided. DCD has contacted Nebius for more details.

Reflection's chief technology officer and co-founder, ​Ioannis Antonoglou, said: "The need for open models ​is clear, ​and this additional compute capacity will allow Reflection to continue to build and train frontier AI ​models at ‌scale."

The agreement comes shortly after Reflection signed a $6.3bn compute capacity deal with SpaceX for its Colossus 2 data center near Memphis, Tennessee.

The company is also working with Shinsegae Group on a 250MW data center project in South Korea.

Reflection AI is developing open AI models akin to China’s DeepSeek, rather than the proprietary systems owned by the likes of OpenAI and Anthropic. It was set up by Misha Laskin and Ioannis Antonoglou, two former Google DeepMind engineers. It is backed by Nvidia and raised $2bn in October 2025. Earlier this year, it was reported to be seeking further funding in a round that would value the business at $20bn.

This year so far, Nebius has secured a major cloud capacity contract from Meta. It also counts Microsoft as a customer.
