AI and quantum computing startup Sygaldry Technologies has raised a total of $139 million across two funding rounds.
An initial Seed Round raised $34m and was led by Initialized Capital, while the rest was raised during a March 2026 Series A round, led by Breakthrough Energy Ventures.
Other investors in the startup include Y Combinator, Rock Yard Ventures, the University of Michigan, Morpheus Ventures, Overmatch Ventures, and Switch Ventures.
Launched by Rigetti Computing founder Chad Rigetti, alongside Idalia Friedson and Michael Keiser, in 2024, Sygaldry designs servers for AI data centers that include both quantum hardware and classical chips.
According to the startup, it is building quantum-accelerated AI servers that combine multiple qubit types within a single, fault-tolerant architecture to “exponentially” speed up training and inference. Sygaldry is also developing quantum algorithms that plug into the tools AI researchers already use.
“We’re building quantum computers that meet the specific requirements for AI processing, with the goal of enabling a fundamentally more efficient way of converting megawatts into intelligence,” said CEO Rigetti.
Co-founder Keiser added: “We are working at the frontier of quantum and AI simultaneously, because we believe their intersection will define the next era of computing. Our technology will accelerate the classical algorithms AI teams already rely on. In parallel, we are developing entirely new quantum-native approaches to AI that classical systems simply cannot match.”
Rigetti left his namesake quantum company in late 2022, with Dr. Subodh Kulkarni taking over as CEO following the departure. Founded in 2013 to commercialize quantum computing technologies, Rigetti Computing went public via a SPAC merger with Supernova Partners Acquisition Company II, Ltd. In March 2022.
