A new data center development is being proposed in Fulton County, Georgia.
Burr Computer Environments, Inc. has filed a Developments of Regional Impact application with the Georgia Department of Community of Community Affairs for a data center development known as ATL11.
The project is described as a 2.1 million sq ft data center campus located along and to the east of Stonewall Tell Road, and north of South Fulton Parkway (SR 14) in Union City, to the southwest of Atlanta.
The project is set to start in 2026. No details on the intended end user were disclosed.
The Atlanta Journal-Constituion suggests the site is a Microsoft data center.
Texas-based Burr is a design and build engineering firm for data centers, providing consultancy for the planning, design, and construction of Information Technology (IT) facilities to “many Fortune 500 companies.”
Atlanta is a major data center hub with operators including Microsoft, CoreSite, QTS, DataBank, Flexential, Switch, DC Blox, Edged Energy, Stack, T5, Vantage, and EdgeConneX.
