Data centers may have had the benefit of access to a host of new technologies, but they haven't adopted automation as fast as you might expect
Automation can certainly cut costs and improve both efficiency and performance but ultimately there’s still a focus on the human element. As a result, a lot of automation features have lain unused, and people with equipment in racks still make frequent visits for manual intervention
But there are signs that all this may change. AI is showing results. Robots are starting to look viable. And the Edge might be the big catalyst for a wave of data center automation. And we expect to see operators taking big steps, with the assistance of experts, and pioneers.
