As anyone who attends industry events knows, a really powerful conference agenda takes time to come together. This year’s DCD>Energy Smart is no exception, building on the success of last year’s event to see 450+ regional and international data center professionals converge on Stockholm at the Münchenbryggeriet conference center on April 2nd (with a short pre-conference agenda April 1st) to discuss the future of the sector.
The conference will be opened by the Mayor of Stockholm, Anna König Jerlmyr and welcomes Greenpeace’s Senior Climate & Energy Campaigner Gary Cook as this year’s international keynote presenter. He will share insights from his latest focus report on the US with lessons learnt from the sometimes controversial Northern Virginia expansion and a preview of the much-anticipated #ClickingClean 2019 report, which will focus on the contribution that the hyperscale data center segment is making to sustainability, an important part of the Nordic data center ecosystem.
The morning session will end with a plenary panel exploring the big opportunity at the intersect of data center operators, energy networks and technology innovators. Moderated by the Uptime Institute’s Andy Lawrence, his panel includes Anders Egelrud, Stockholm Exergi, David Hall, Equinix, Devrim Celal, Upside Energy, and Telia’s Chief Evangelist Mattias Fridström.
