Charlie Earthman

Senior Originator, Musket Corporation

Diesel-generator reliability ultimately depends on reliable access to diesel fuel and often diesel exhaust fluid (DEF), the urea-based consumable reactant used in SCR-equipped generators to control NOx emissions. During low-probability, long-duration outages extending beyond the site's initial diesel and DEF inventories, failure to receive sufficient diesel (or DEF if required) during an extended emergency can ultimately force a site to shed load or go partially or fully offline.

In this session, Musket Corporation's Charlie Earthman will highlight the key components of a resilient diesel and DEF supply strategy.

The discussion will explore relationships with established suppliers possessing sufficient trucking assets, terminal supply depth and logistical redundancy to maintain uninterrupted generator operation until emergency conditions ease and primary power is restored.
