Data center workforce challenges are here to stay and with concerns growing, so are the efforts of organisations to tackle the talent gap. In 2024 the DCD>Global Awards launched its inaugural Data Center Workforce Initiative of the Year Award with the intention of highlighting the industry’s efforts to target these challenges. The award in 2024 went to Microsoft’s Datacenter Academy (DCA) which was celebrated for its comprehensive, globally scalable approach to workforce development, offering training, certifications, and job placement through strategic partnerships with educational institutions and local communities.
