As AI automation reshapes industries, fears of widespread job displacement are growing. While AI promises increased efficiency and possible solutions to the workforce challenge, growing concerns about job losses and workforce disruption have fueled resistance echoing the “Not In My Backyard” (NIMBY) movement. Are we entering a new age of AI-driven NIMBYism, where society embraces technological progress in theory but resists its local impact? Or are these concerns justified, demanding stronger regulations and workforce adaptation strategies?
