The option of “hindsight” and traditional risk analysis approaches to critical facility planning fall short when addressing “black swan” events like the unprecedented mega wildfire disasters which have plagued California in recent years. With billion-dollar investments in digital infrastructure at risk in regions with a not so secure grid, sites that are ripe for locating data center facilities, quite often are not immediately equipped with adequate power availability.
