In 2017, the iGA (Kingdom Information & e-Government Authority) launched a cloud-first policy requiring all new government ICT procurement to evaluate cloud-based services first. At the same time AWS has chosen Bahrain as its first infrastructure region. This session explores whether in time, there will be a swing with cloud becoming the centre of data storage and, data centers being used for critical infrastructure only.
