Is water usage always bad? Adopting a whole lifecycle approach to water consumption in cooling

With the use of water in data centers increasingly under the microscope, the industry cannot ignore its critical role in tackling the global water crisis. However, moving away from water usage to more power does not fix this issue, it compounds the problem. So how can we shift to a true lifecycle perspective on water and how can cooling technologies support this approach, particularly indirect evaporative cooling with its historically high levels of water usage?

This presentation will demonstrate how indirect evaporative cooling technology has dramatically moved on to the point of virtually no water usage, while still achieving the same efficiencies. Providing a deep-dive into the Excool Zero solution, our speaker will examine what this low water consumption approach means to water infrastructure and storage, footprint, maintenance hours and more. Comparisons in terms of overall capex and opex of this next-generation indirect evaporative cooling vs chilled water will also be shared.
