The Data Center Construction Channel

Panel: With build cost inflation on the rise, is it time to dump your coins into wholesale colocation?

This episode is now available to stream on-demand using the form below.

In the current environment, the cost of building a data center has become exorbitant in the face of a global supply chain challenge. The pressure is on to find suitable locations for build, to coordinate ‘just-in-time’ lean construction, the installation of M&E equipment whilst keeping a lid on cost.

As such, wholesale colocation often better equipped to weather the storm and employ methods such as onshorting, increasing their supplier pool and even designing their own equipment, could we see proprietary data center builds dissipate in favor of a purpose-built, ready-made facility?

This panel will assess how large-scale owner-operators are approaching the decision to build as the competition for land, materials and labor heats up.
