Panel: Is decentralization going to fundamentally change the data center landscape in APAC?
This episode will stream live at 12:30pm SGT
The data center landscape within APAC remains ever-evolving, driven by data usage & industrialization. However, whilst the rise in demand for data centers shows no signs of slowing, tier 1 markets have become increasingly challenging to plan & build in, fuelled by moratoriums, grid constraints and fierce competition for land.
In this episode, expert speakers will consider whether the data center landscape in APAC has inherently shifted and what this means for the future of data center build in the region. Do increasingly stringent data sovereignty laws and improved subsea cable connectivity mean that Tier 2 markets such as Malaysia, Indonesia and Vietnam will become the next data center hotspots? What will be the impact of telco deregulation? Will more colos look to make the move to take advantage of the better land and power availability and connectivity provided by hyperscalers in Tier 2 cities? Speakers provide insight on whether the decentralization trend is here to stay, and what all of this means for those looking to operate in the region.
