Panel: From supply to demand response: can the data center help to balance the grid of the future?
With the US power grid inextricably burdened by climatic catastrophes, cyberattacks and the weight of carbon-free PPAs, attention has turned to an opportunity to foster a more reciprocal relationship between the data center and the grid.
We ask our panellists what role the modern data center can and should play in grid balancing. Are power consumption adjustments enough? Can operators transform demand into opportunity and if so, who can help them on this journey and fast-track grid-facility cooperation?
