The upgrade and retrofit of existing data centers has become more important as the world’s data center portfolio grows older and as the business requirements of IT have evolved. It can be more complex than a new build, as it entails keeping services running, and accommodating existing staff.
Judges will be looking for modernization projects which deliver the operational and business outcomes required, and which also demonstrate how modernization beat other options such as outsourcing or a new build in their particular case.
Eligibility
- To qualify, the project entered must be operational by 1st September 2019. (CLOSED NOW)
- The facility being modernised will have been originally commissioned before 1st August 2013 and therefore been operational for a minimum of 5 years.
- Vendors, consulting engineers and contractors can nominate projects on behalf of their clients and assist in the preparation of the entry, however the primary recipient of the award will be the project end-user/operator.
