Oracle has launched cloud services designed specifically for US federal government agencies, nearly all of whom are required to weigh and use as many cloud services as possible by the government's Cloud First policy.

Oracle Government Cloud includes a suite of cloud applications and solutions. Some are already available and the company is currently going through the process of getting authorization to provide more.

Mark Johnson, SVP of public sector at Oracle, said the suite of cloud solutions the company had built for government clients was highly secure and robust. “ The maturity and transparency of the standards-based Oracle Government Cloud will enable agencies to confidently move mission-critical government applications to the cloud without compromising security, performance, or reliability,” he said.

Software-as-a-Service offerings are available today, and Infrastructure-as-a-Service and Platform as a Service offerings are expected to be added to the portfolio in the future.

Solutions available today include Oracle Service Cloud, Oracle RightNow Policy Automation and Oracle Learn Cloud. All of these are designed to help agencies streamline business processes, from financial and human resources management to customer service and project management.

Oracle owns, manages and certifies all underlying technology for its government cloud.
