As rising power densities, GPU-driven workloads, and sustainability pressures intensify, even minor deviations in environmental control can result in substantial energy waste, increased costs, and elevated risk. This HVAC data center eGuide, developed with Vaisala, provides a practical framework for improving cooling efficiency through accurate temperature and humidity measurement.
The guide examines how measurement accuracy directly influences HVAC performance, cooling energy consumption, and operational resilience. Through real-world analysis and a detailed case study, it demonstrates how small temperature variances can translate into long-term financial and carbon impacts at scale.
Designed for data center operators, facilities teams, and infrastructure engineers, the eGuide delivers actionable insight into optimizing HVAC systems, reducing overcooling, and building more efficient, reliable, and sustainable data center environments.

Accurate measurements are clearly a prerequisite, without them, control is blind. That said, in many facilities the real limitation today is not sensor accuracy, but how measurement data is contextualised and acted upon across systems. Temperature precision alone does not explain why heat is generated, which workloads drive it, or whether local cooling actions improve or degrade system-level efficiency. Moving from measurement to optimisation ultimately requires integrating thermal data with workload behaviour, power flows and control logic, not just better sensors.

Behavioural Correlation. Every implementation is different. Every use case on that implementation is unique. Without circumstantial correlation, optimisation will not be effective.
