Danfoss Turbocor compressors have emerged as a game-changer in data center cooling, offering unparalleled efficiency and reliability. Utilizing oil-free, magnetic bearing technology, Danfoss Turbocor compressors minimize friction and energy losses, resulting in higher efficiency and extended operational lifespans. These compressors excel in low-lift operations, drastically reducing the need for traditional waterside economizers (free cooling) and simplifying system design while improving reliability.

The TGS380 compressor introduction further underscores the advancement in data center cooling technology. Specifically designed for high-efficiency operation, even under challenging environmental conditions, the TGS380 compressor offers superior performance and reliability, solidifying Danfoss Turbocor technology as the preferred choice for data center cooling applications.

The TGS380 compressor also offers a high-capacity, energy-efficient solution for use in comfort cooling and intensive ambient environments. The compressor can be used in air-cooled chiller applications operating in extreme ambient temperatures of up to 52°C or 125°F. It generates water temperatures up to 30°C or 86°F when used in data-center applications.

Rogerio Federici, Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Danfoss Turbocor says:

“As temperatures rise, flexible solutions are critical. Our solutions not only work in any environment and across markets, but also prioritize energy savings for our planet while delivering reliability for our customers. Our recent partnership with Google demonstrates the widespread adoption of Danfoss Turbocor compressors in large-scale data centers, solidifying our industry leadership.”

Customers can now create simpler, energy-efficient solutions and market the same design globally.

Danfoss Turbocor offers the only oil-free compressors that can operate in both heating and cooling applications and at high ambient temperatures while providing a larger, more precise capacity option. In air-cooled chiller applications, OEMs can reduce the number of compressors in their chiller designs, in favor of a simpler solution. This can reduce costs and allow for easier installation and less maintenance.

The latest addition to Danfoss Turbocor is compliant with refrigerant regulations in the EU and North America. The TGS380 is optimized to use low-GWP refrigerants HFO-1234ze and R515B, which can help customers comply with evolving regulations, minimize carbon emissions, and meet increasing environmental standards.

Danfoss Turbocor compressors feature a unique magnetic bearing technology that eliminates the need for compressor oil management, resulting in less maintenance and greater energy efficiency throughout the system. This technology also contributes to a longer expected machine life, as magnetic bearings are not subject to the performance degradation or mechanical wear associated with oiled compressors. Additionally, Danfoss offers the largest range of oil-free compressors for low GWP refrigerants.
