Yondr has broken ground on a second building at its data center campus in Loudoun County, Virginia.
The company this week announced it has broken ground on the 48MW building in partnership with local real estate firm JK Land Holdings.

Eanna Murphy, COO of Design and Construction at Yondr Group, added: “Northern Virginia remains the world’s data center capital, and we’re delighted to commence this next phase of Loudoun County’s digital infrastructure transformation alongside a partner whose values, morals, and ethics mirror our own."
Yondr broke ground on the first building at the site, known as Project Allegro and said to be in Arcola, in October 2022. The company announced it had energized the first phase of the first building in December 2023. The site features Yondr's waterless cooling design.
Acquired in June 2021, the 270-acre, two-building campus is set to deliver 96MW of IT capacity, with scope for further expansion opportunities.
The site is the company's first in the US. It has plans for a second Virginia campus in Prince William County.
JK Moving Services and JK Land Holdings are both owned by Chuck Kuhn, a prominent landowner in Virginia who has been involved with a number of data center developments.
Tucker Gladhill, VP of technology services at JK Moving Services said the groundbreaking ceremony was "time well spent. Writing on LinkedIn this month, Gladhill said: “It was great to see the infusion of workforce and economic development generated by the joint efforts of Yondr Group and JK Land Holdings.”
David Cox, president of JK Moving Services, last week posted: “Yesterday, I attended the groundbreaking ceremony for the 2nd building of Allegro South, a joint venture between Yondr Group and JK Land Holdings to build a data center campus in Northern Virginia.”
Yondr, which is partly owned by Apollo Global Management, aims to deliver data centers across five continents by 2024, and has projects currently under development in markets including Virginia, London, Frankfurt, Berlin, Indonesia, Malaysia, and multiple cities in India. The company broke ground on a German data center in Bischofsheim, outside Frankfurt, in March 2023.
