The Power & Real Estate Partnership (PREP) Program has been designed to openly solicit offers from firms with land and power assets for either outright acquisition or partnership.

According to the company, the new platform will offer potential data center developers a range of benefits. These include early cash flows, onsite power options, and an expedited timeframe for deployment, typically within 18-24 months.

“With the PREP Program, we’re aligning land and power owners with a proven platform to unlock value in months, not years,” said Everett Thompson, CEO of WDC. “By combining our capital, energy expertise, and our global end-user network, we are uniquely positioned to meet the surging demand for industrial-scale compute infrastructure.”

WDC claims that the program is supported by a proven track record, having previously collaborated with Google to facilitate the acquisition of a data center site in Dallas, Texas.

The deal, completed in May, saw the company acquire a 1GW site near Dallas, and subsequently sell it to Google, in what was described as one of the largest non-nuclear AI-focused data center deals in recent years.

The company is currently qualifying sites across North America. Its basic criteria for development include less than six cent power, 100MW+ power availability, and expansibility via grid and onsite generation.

As part of the launch, Sean Stofer has joined WDC as partner / Co-CEO.

WDC is the sister company of Wired Real Estate Group, a Las Vegas-based independent cloud, colocation, and data center advisory firm.
