What’s it really like at DatacenterDynamics? Our new video series gets to the heart of the data center industry, and takes its pulse! To put it another way, it’s Friday and we sat round a table, talking about the top issues of the week in the data center world. 

This week, we were intrigued by Nokia’s long-delayed purchase of Alcatel-Lucent, which creates a stronger European equipment maker for telecoms - and means the Finnish firm owns Bell Labs, the outfit which gave the world the transistor, the laser and the solar cell. 

We also went to the Hadoop summit. Big data is the elephant in the room, and as the Hadoop ecosystem develops even better frameworks for handling data, a new word slipped out for old fashioned batch processing. 

And the UK Cabinet Office has a digital advisor, working to empower the G-Cloud. But wait, is there still a G-Cloud?
