Vultr has launched a cloud region in Milan, Italy.
The new region is the cloud company's 33rd region globally, and its ninth in Europe, joining Amsterdam, Frankfurt, London, Madrid, Manchester, Paris, Stockholm, and Warsaw.
It will deliver Vultr's full-stack AI infrastructure and cloud computing offering, including bare metal and cloud GPU solutions from Nvidia and AMD.
The region is also now a connected Autonomous System Number (ASN) at the Milan Internet Exchange (MIX), which enables direct peering with others on the exchange.
"Italy is one of Europe's fastest-growing cloud infrastructure markets, and Milan is at the heart of it,” said J.J. Kardwell, CEO of Vultr. “Vultr is here because the enterprises and developers driving that growth need high-performance cloud infrastructure without the cost and complexity of the traditional hyperscalers. This is a long-term investment in Italy and in European AI innovation."
Vultr describes itself as the largest privately owned cloud platform, and was founded in 2014. Earlier this year, Vultr was reported to be seeking $1bn in new capital with the aim of helping it compete in the AI compute race.
The cloud company previously completed a funding round in December 2024 that raised $333 million, led by LuminArx Capital Management and AMD Ventures, which valued the company at $3.5bn at the time.
