Vodafone has won a contract that will see the telco manage Telenor’s international voice operations across the Nordics along with its maritime division.

The operator will take over the contract from Telenor Linx, which currently operates Telenor's international voice operations across Telenor Norway, Telenor Sweden, DNA Finland, Telenor Denmark, and Telenor Maritime.

Telenor Linx is an international carrier and software company that provides services to the global telco industry.

As part of the agreement, Norwegian telco Telenor will have access to Vodafone’s global scale, international voice expertise and established operating platform.

Vodafone's Procure & Connect division will act as the operational gateway for inbound and outbound international voice traffic into and out of Telenor’s Nordic markets and Telenor Maritime. The unit is the operator's dedicated division for procurement.

According to the telco, the agreement is designed to future-proof Telenor's international voice business.

Vodafone Procure and Connect will work with Telenor as part of a phased migration programme over the coming six months. During this time, Telenor Linx's existing customer and partner agreements will continue to be honored throughout the transition period, as part of the migration process.

This arrangement does not affect customer services, existing commercial relationships or agreed voice interconnect services, added Vodafone.

“As the telecommunications industry continues to evolve, strategic partnerships play a crucial role in driving efficiency and delivering greater value to customers," said Stig Waagbo, CEO Telenor Linx. "This agreement with Vodafone reflects our commitment to optimizing our operations while maintaining the highest standards of service."
