Virgin Media Business has launched a new colocation service in the UK, using its own fiber-optic network and partnering with data center provider ICM, which has data centers outside of London and in Scotland.
The offering has a strong focus on cloud services and disaster recovery, according to Virgin Media Business executive director for commercial operations Andrew McGrath.
Virgin Media's network extends throughout the country, and ICM has data centers based in Glasgow, Leeds and Farnborough. The offering also includes Virgin Media's own operations in Birmingham, London, Manchester, Romford and Bristol.
Organizations are enthusiastic about cloud services and are keen to take advantage of the benefits it offers," McGrath said.
"Colocation is often the first step towards fully embracing a virtualized IT environment."
