US provider of managed video services Yorktel has appointed Jim DeBlasio, former president and CEO of Internap, as its exective VP of operations.

DeBlasio will oversee delivery and optimization of New Jersey Yorktel's services to corporate and federal clientele, in addition to shared internal services.

Besides leading Internap, a major US hosting and managed services company, between 2005 and 2009, he has held numerous other executive leadership roles. Overall, he has more than 30 years of experience in mobility, optical, software and internet technology services, according to Yorktel.

Yorktel CEO Ron Gaboury praised DeBlasio's achievements while at Internap. “During his time as president and CEO of Internap Network Services Corporation, Jim initiated a new set of cloud technology, IP and video products and was instrumental in helping the company achieve a doubling in revenue, a dramatic increase in new customers, two of the largest multi-year deals and the first year of net income profitability in the company's history,” he said.

DeBlasio was the fourth addition to Yorktel's North America management team in 2013. The company also appointed Greg Douglas as VP of business development for public sector, Dan Missbrenner as VP of commercial sales for the Western Region and Victoria Healey as director of Managed Services.
