Verizon and Equinix have agreed to make Verizon’s Private IP service available in Equinix’s International Business Exchange data centers in major markets around the world. The agreement gives enterprise customers greater access to global communications solutions.
John Stratton, president of Verizon Enterprise Solutions, said the new alliance would create a platform that could transform enterprise's businesses. “Whether it is e-commerce applications, big data, media and entertainment or cloud computing, enterprises need to quickly and securely access and move information from various points around the world,” he said.
Verizon’s Private IP solution is offered in 147 countries and territories across six continents via the company's Private IP network. The company offers reporting and monitoring tools and portals with the solution, providing the ability to dynamically manage and scale the network.
The carrier recently announced availability of 100GbE access for its Private IP network, giving customers faster speeds and greater bandwidth.
Equinix CEO and president Steve Smith, said, “This will also enable customers to use Verizon’s network to reach more than 300 cloud service providers inside Equinix data centers.”
