Data center services provider Vazata has launched a new offering, packaging power, connectivity, storage, Ethernet switching, firewall and a virtual server into one cabinet.
The 42U cabinet is fully managed, including a managed 24-port Ethernet switch, managed firewall services and 500GB of managed storage.
Vazata CEO Lance Black said the idea was to provide a bundled service at a good monthly rate (about US$1000). Additionally, Vazata is selling the package as a way to provide a smooth path to the cloud.
“Not only does this product offering beat the market for high-quality cabinets, but it also provides our customers with a clear, easy path for cloud infrastructure utilization, supporting functions like mission critical applications production, disaster recovery, storage and [testing and development] environments,” Black said.
“By bundling The Vazata Cabinet with a free virtual server, we’re staying true to our mission to simplify the migration path from colo to the cloud.”
The solution includes full support by Vazata, while the client retains control.
Power is served through redundant feeds. The provider is also including bandwidth, a 100Mbps port delivering connectivity from a variety of carriers.
The virtual server has one virtual CPU, 4GB of RAM and an operating system.
Vazata was formerly called Horizon Data Center Solutions. The company was rebranded in September 2011 to reflect transformation from a colocation company to one with emphasis on Infrastructure as a Service, Black told DatacenterDynamics then.
The company has two data centers in the Dallas metro and one in Northern Virginia.
