A report in Malaysia's Business Times, EMC Corp's Malaysian arm, EMC Computer Systems , has announced plans to establish a US$1.1 million disaster recovery site on behalf of semiconductor and system solutions manufacturer, Infineon Technologies (Malaysia).
The site will be a remote location away from the present data center in Malacca.
Chan Mun Koon, director of Information Technology (IT) for Infineon Technologies is quoted by the report as saying: "Disasters come in many shapes and without warning. Therefore, it is extremely important that we take appropriate action to protect our business from any downtime, be it due to floods, fires or human error.
