The US Social Security Administration is to build a $750 million data center after receiving $1 billion in the economic stimulus law.

The Baltimore Sun reported that the Administration is to replace its 30 year old data center with a new facility. The paper said the administration holds records on 56 million US citizens who receive some form of social security benefit.

$400 has been allocated for real estate and construction and $350 million for equipment.
