One branch of the US health insurance provider Arkansas BlueCross and BlueShield is building a new data center in Conway, Ark. The new facility is one of two that will replace the organization's existing data center in Little Rock, Ark., BlueCross spokeswoman Max Heuer said.

"We're moving the data center from its existing site to two new sites," Heuer said. "The current data center is from 1974. It needs to be updated."

Heuer could not provide more details on the project but ArkansasBusiness.com reported that the Conway facility in Meadows Office and Technology Park will total 18,000 square feet. The company plans to begin construction in mid-2010.
