US data center wholesaler DuPont Fabros Technology (DFT) has chosen Sidera Networks to connect its New Jersey data center with one in Illinois.

Sidera is already providing connectivity for DFT’s recently built ACC6 data center in Ashburn, Virginia, terminating its Transcom Route at the facility. Now, the data center provider’s customers have a choice of access to diverse fiber paths between the Ashburn facility and the provider’s Aurora, Illinois, and Piscataway, New Jersey sites.

Sidera’s Xtreme Ultra-Low Latency Network offering is targeted at financial-services customers and other companies that need high bandwidth, low latency and route diversity.

Diebold to move customers to Terremark data centers

US IT outsourcer Diebold has taken space at Terremark data centers in Richardson, Texas, and Manassas, Virginia, so that it could connect its infrastructure to the global network operated by Terremark’s parent company Verizon.

Diebold is planning to move the infrastructure of its existing customers from three Ohio data centers to the Terremark sites.

Diebold provides a virtualized platform that optimizes network performance and security. In addition to managing customer data, the company provides centralized monitoring of ATM networks, including endpoint security, software deployment, content management and more.

XO connect Cobalt in Las Vegas

Nevada-based data center services provider Cobalt Data Centers has chosen XO Communications to provide network services for a data center it is building in Las Vegas. XO will connect the facility – slated for completion in November – to its nationwide network.

This is going to be Cobalt’s first data center, which is going to provide 5.5MW of power. The company is planning to build another data center in Las Vegas on its 12.5-acre property in the city.
