Data center developer T5 Partners has leased out its new purpose-built data center shell near Charlotte, North Carolina, to an unnamed client.

The 215,000-sq-ft building is located in T5's Kings Mountain Data Center Park, where the developer plans to start design and construction of a new powered shell right away. The new shell will measure 150,000 sq ft in Phase 1, expandable to 480,000 sq ft.

The data center park has more than 120MW of power from Duke Energy, a capacity that is expandable. The utility charges about $0.04 per kWh. There is redundant water supply, coming from two sources, and multiple fiber providers, including AT&T, Time Warner Cable, DukeNet, RST, PalmettoNet, Charter, AGL/Zayo. This is one of two T5 data center parks in the Charlotte region.
