The following content is from an older version of this website, and may not display correctly.Data center provider CoreSite has secured a customer who will lease the entire first phase of its data center in California's Silicon Valley. Not disclosing who the customer is, CoreSite said it was one of the world's largest technology companies and based in the San Francisco Bay Area. This is the second deal this customer has made with the provider.
The facility, located in Santa Clara, houses a 50,000 sq ft data center floor, with 8MW of power available to it. CoreSite completed the first phase in early April at the property where it plans to add two more phases in the future.
"CoreSite is pleased to have expanded our relationship with this valuable customer in delivering our latest, premier data center development project," said David Dunn, CoreSite senior vice president of marketing and business development. "Our experienced data center development team enabled us to rapidly deliver a truly world-class data center."
The company owns 12.6 acres of additional redevelopment land in Santa Clara, with plans to add a total of about 450,000 sq ft of data center space there in the future. CoreSite's other Bay Area data centers are in San Jose and Milpitas.
Earlier in May, CoreSite ÔÇô formerly CRG West ÔÇô filed for an Initial Public Offering with the US Securities and Exchange Commission. The company expects to raise $230m through the float.
