The University of Amsterdam (UvA) is working on a research project alongside ORTEC Consulting Group to gather information on the adoption and implementation of big data applications among businesses.

The research project will focus on the role of scientific institutions in the big data industry and ways to stimulate the use of big data in industry. It will also look at how companies attract and retain skilled big data programmers and analysts.

The project’s data collection phase will last until the 19th of September and preliminary results will be published at the end of October according to UvA and ORTEC.

ORTEC Consulting Group’s CEO Michael van Duijn said: “one of ORTEC’s greatest assets is our intellectual capital.”
