In its continuing effort to strengthen Guatemala's credit and financial infrastructure, TransUnion has announced the opening of its Central American data center in Guatemala City. The centralized data center will serve as the main hub for TransUnion's delivery of service offerings for financial institutions in Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua and Costa Rica.
"The opening of the data center will be an important milestone for TransUnion and the markets we serve throughout Central America, and is the latest in a series of technology investments we are making to help individuals achieve their goals," said TransUnion's Maria Olga Rehbein, president, Latin American operations. "With its technology and communication infrastructure as well as its depth in technical resources, Guatemala City will serve TransUnion well as the hub of our Latin America operations."
"By creating our centralized data center as well as our push for the credit democratization for the region, TransUnion is diligently working with the financial, credit granting and lending community to create a well-structured system of information sharing. This in turn can help lead to lower prices for credit, better loan performance, larger and more profitable markets and increased financial stability for the region," said Rehbein.
