Data center cooling and HVAC firm Trane has launched new models in its Sintesis line of chillers.
The company this month introduced new high-capacity models within its Sintesis eXcellent GVAF air-cooled chiller platform.
The new GVAF 505 and GVAF 550 models extend the upper end of the Sintesis range to 2.5MW.
“At Trane, we are designing the future of data‑center cooling. These facilities rely on systems that deliver certainty — certainty of uptime, certainty of efficiency, and certainty of long‑term performance,” said Lauri Salmia, applied portfolio manager at Trane. “With higher capacities and a wider operating map, the upgraded GVAF platform reflects our engineering strength, deep application expertise, and engineered‑to‑order capability, enabling project‑specific solutions delivered at scale.”
The operating map has been widened to 54°C (129°F) ambient, and all models are optimized for ultra‑low‑GWP R1234ze, with optional CORE condensers available.
All Sintesis eXcellent GVAF units are manufactured and tested at Trane Technologies’ plant in France.
Traditionally a HVAC company, Trane has been making moves into liquid cooling for several years. It launched a 1MW coolant distribution unit last year. It also offers a fan wall for data centers, as well as chillers, and launched a 300kW CRAH unit in August.
