A tower technician from Texas fell to his death while working on a broadcast and communications structure on Shinall Mountain, Little Rock, Arkansas, last week.
The man has been named as Toby A. Cole, 62, of Harlingen, Texas, according to the Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office.
Local media outlets reported that officers from Pulaski County Sheriff's Office were dispatched to the tower last Friday (September 12), at around 2:09 pm after Cole fell from approximately 200 feet. The incident occurred on 19008 Two Towers Road.
First officers attempted to save Cole, but he succumbed to his injuries.
Wireless Estimator notes that the address sits within the Shinall Mountain antenna farm, which is the main broadcast site for the Little Rock market.
Multiple TV stations and FM radio channels operator from the towers on and around Two Towers Road, with structures exceeding 1,000 feet above ground.
Further details around Cole's employer and the cause of his death have not been released.
His death is the third fatality of a tower technician this year.
