Titan Energy Worldwide, a leader in the manufacturing, marketing and servicing of energy generation products and services, announced a new order for its Gemini TwinPack Modular System. A 1MW system will be delivered and installed at a datacenter at the Excelsior Crossings office development in Hopkins, Minnesota during 2008. The Gemini TwinPack is a state-of-the-art emergency power system that offers two side-by-side diesel engines for redundancy while utilizing a smaller footprint.
"Datacenters, co-location facilities and network operations centers have a critical need for emergency standby power systems, commented Tom Vagts, chief operating officer of Titan Energy Systems. "The new Gemini Twin Pack is a state-of-the-art product line that offers our customers a lower cost solution with a shorter manufacturing cycle. The Gemini uses high volume, lower cost engines that allow quick and easy start-up. The system also offers excellent load response compared with a large single engine, said Vagts.
The 1000kW Gemini TwinPack power system will be installed in an ultra quiet, sound attenuated enclosure outside the datacenter. The enclosure will house two 16L diesel engines, a 1,578 gallon fuel tank and a circuit breaker compartment to allow for accessible control of the energy output. Installation services will be provided by Gephart Electric.
