Three people were injured by an explosion at a Johnson Controls factory in Waynesboro, Pennsylvania.
The current condition of the injured workers is not yet known, nor is the cause of the explosion.
"The safety and well-being of our employees is our top priority, and we are actively assessing the situation and working with local response teams," Johnson Controls said in a statement. "We will provide more information as appropriate as we learn more."
Two patients were airlifted to hospital from the factory at 100 Cumberland Valley Ave, while the third was transported by ambulance to Meritus Medical Center.
The large manufacturing plant is involved in the production of a number of Johnson Controls products, including industrial HVAC systems used by data centers. It also is home to a test site for the screw compressor industry, used by the oil and gas industry.
Last year, the Department of Energy gave Johnson Controls $33 million to ramp up electric heat pump production to help lower national emissions.
