Submitted through an acquisition entity, Thor Acquisitions WC LLC, the proposed project would be located in Kingston and is estimated to cost $1 billion, with completion targeted for 2030.

Dubbed the Kingston Technology Hub, Thor says the project will generate around $2 million annually in tax revenue for the local area, as well as around 50 full time jobs. The site has a proposed footprint of 350,000 sq ft (32,500 sqm).

The real estate investment firm also estimated the project’s water usage at 50,000 gallons of water per day.

Founded in 1986, Thor traditionally focused on retail, residential, and industrial buildings. The company owns property across the world, including in the US, Canada, Europe, Russia, India, and Latin America. Thor manages its data center developments through its Form8tion unit, founded in 2023.

In June, Thor filed a lawsuit against the city of Urbana in western Ohio after the city imposed a moratorium on data centers. Thor said it had already announced plans for a facility and invested millions of dollars.
