South of England based data center The Bunker hosted local MP Dr. Stephen Ladyman to showcase its data centre expansion plans.

Ladyman, who is vice Chairman of the Labour Party discussed plans for the soon to be developed data centre expansion; The Bunker2.

The Bunker2 will offer 14,000m2 of Tier 3 data floor within the existing defences of The Bunker's facility, along with 2,000m2 of office and support accommodation, the company said.

Ladyman, MP for Thanet South, said: "I think this place is a truly world class operation. It was a unique opportunity to build something like this here and it's triumphed. You don't find many facilities that are secure from nuclear and biological attack, or indeed many places in the world which can match this, and it's great that they are expanding."

Separately healthcare imaging specialist Cimar (UK) will use the Bunker as its hosting supplier of its radiology image sharing web service.

Cimar specialises in compression and encryption technology to the radiology and healthcare markets.
