Emerson shows off its wares in Australia

Emerson Network Power opened a live 125 sq m live data center demonstration facility in Sydney, Australia this month.

The data center power and servers the Emerson Network Power operations in Australia and New Zealand showcasing a range of Emersion infrastructure products, from its enterprise to its telecommunications and small business solutions.

Emerson said it hopes to win over customers with this approach, offering a real-time view of its working products, and better highlighting customisable options for the data center, and real-life scenarios such as a total power outage.

The center itself took 18 months to build and has a backup capacity of 60k VA UPS units oepating in a dual bus configuration and features a cooling capacity of 30KW per rack using Liebert XD.

Japanese Internet company turns to Juniper for switches

Internet Initiative Japan (IIJ) said it is using Juniper Networks EX Series Ethernet Switches in its data centers for its IIJ GIO cloud services.

IIJ said the switches allowed it to build the networking component of virtualized service platform using a simplified two-layer model at a reduce cost.
