Elon Musk-owned battery and electric vehicle manufacturer Tesla has appointed Jessy Rivest to head its energy program team.
Rivest joins the company from venture capital firm Khosla Ventures, which focuses on frontier and emerging technologies. She spent four years at the company as an investment partner.
Reflecting on the move on LinkedIn, Rivest wrote: “I’m joining Tesla to lead long-term energy strategy and programs across batteries, charging, and solar. These past four years at Khosla Ventures gave me the opportunity to work with investors and founders across a broad range of climate technologies, from early technical risk through factory production and initial deployment.
“I’m excited to bring that perspective to Tesla, which is uniquely positioned to shape the future of energy, with a vision that spans generation, storage, and use, and the ability to integrate and deploy these technologies at scale.”
Tesla has increasingly taken aim at the data center sector in recent years, supporting the buildout of fellow Elon Musk company SpaceXAI's (previously xAI) data center offerings. Last year, reports revealed that the battery firm deployed 168 Tesla Megapacks at its Colossus data centers.
Earlier this year, the firm filed a trademark for a modular data center hardware system, Megapod.
