IT lifecycle solution company, TES, has launched its IT asset repurposing and processing facility in Fredericksburg, Virginia.
The SK Ecoplant-owned company built the 120,000 sq ft (11,150 sqm) site to refurbish and recycle technology assets and data center equipment. Located near the I-95, the site aims to support the data center industry in the area by preventing rare metals from being sent to landfills.
Bill Vasquez, TES general manager, Americas, said: “The growth of recycling and repurposing will pave the way for a sustainable future, where innovation meets environmental consciousness. Our newest facility has been meticulously designed to maximize efficiency and prepare for the rapidly evolving landscape of enterprise technology.”
The company first announced plans to build the facility in August 2023. TES said the facility will create more than 100 jobs in the Fredericksburg area.
According to TES, its fully certified site uses advanced technical tools to process hyperscale and enterprise equipment and ensure the thorough forensic removal of data from technological devices.

Initially formed in 2005, TES was acquired by South Korean construction company SK Ecoplant in February 2022 for $1bn. TES currently operates 43 facilities across 22 countries, including its Las Vegas facility opened in early 2023.
