Colocation and interconnection service provider Telx has expanded its data center floor inventory in Dallas, Texas, and Clifton, New Jersey, adding a total of 12,500 sq ft of raised floor. The facilities provide power densities of up to 300W per square foot, according to a Telx news release.

According to Telx chief marketing officer Brad Hokamp, the expansion was needed because both facilities had been approaching capacity limits. "Telx successfully sold out the majority of Phase I capacity in our Dallas and Clifton data centers, and is expanding to meet current customer growth requirements along with new customer demand," he said in a statement.

Telx's Dallas data center, located in the city's First American Center, provides more than 34,000 sq ft of space and access to more than 50 network operators. The company also has an interconnection center in the city, to which its First American center customers have access.

The facility also has direct connections to one of the largest data center facilities in the region called the Dallas Infomart.

The Telx data center in Clifton serves New York City and northern New Jersey. The provider has about 50,000 sq ft of space at the site, located about 11 miles outside of New York.

The New Jersey data center has access to more than 400 carriers, business exchanges and enterprises. It has direct access to the company's other facilities in the region, including 60 Hudson St. and 111 8th Ave. in New York and 300 Boulevard in East Weehawken, N.J.
