The historic Jersey Telecom building in Minden Place, Telephone House, has been given a new lease of life for the 21st Century as a state-of-the-art datacenter.
With the move of the Jersey Telecom shop to Queen Street and the continual reduction in size of major infrastructure equipment such as telephone exchanges, Jersey Telecom has seen an increase in the amount of space at its disposal in the Minden Place building. The demand for datacenter services has risen sharply since the company launched its first major datacenter at Five Oaks, so the decision was taken to respond to strong customer demand by creating a new data centre in the historic building.
This latest datacenter is Jersey Telecom's third and is an important complement to the £3 million pound upgrade of the datacenter at Five Oaks currently being undertaken. The Minden Place centre has been equipped to the same high standards of Jersey Telecom's two others and means that the company is well positioned to meet the demands of clients in the 21st Century.
