Colocation firm Telehouse, part of KDDI, announced the appointment of Hiroshi Kobayashi as the new Managing Director of its European Division. Kobayashi-san succeeds Tokuji Mitsui and will be based in London, the European headquarters.  

Kobayashi-san has a background in engineering and sales and was Head of Operations at KDDI Corporation in Japan.

Mr Kobayashi will oversee Telehouse’s EMEA expansion and development. In the past couple of years Telehouse has expanded its facilities in London and Paris and set up new facilities in South Africa, Istanbul and in January 2012 acquired Databurg, one of Germany’s largest colocation sites based in central Frankfurt.   

“I have a vision for Telehouse Europe, which is to greatly expand the business in both horizontal and vertical directions. This will be done by expanding existing and new sites, providing more value-added services and diversifying our portfolio with CDN capabilities and cloud services. My goal is to make Telehouse Europe the number one for total customer satisfaction, and I am pleased to lead the Telehouse business in what is proving to be an exciting period in the industry,” he said.
