DCI Technology Holdings, a leader in the technology real estate business, has announced the acquisition of the Dallas Infomart, one of America’s premier data center and telecom facilities, in one of the largest foreclosure sales in Texas history.
DCI is headquartered in Palo Alto, California with growing operations in Dallas and data center facilities throughout the country. They paid more than $100 million in October 2005 for the Infomart note held by GMAC Commercial Mortgages.
Daniel A. Schryer, managing partner of DCI Technology Holdings commented: “The glut of Internet data centers of the late 1990s has been replaced with an accelerating demand for high-tech buildings such as the Infomart. As that happens, this kind of space is becoming increasingly hard to find.”
“We plan to grow with our current customers as their demand increases,” continued Schryer. “In addition, there are many companies that would like relocate to such a unique facility as demand for disaster recovery and mission critical call centers continues to grow,” he said. The 1.2 million ft┬▓ facility is one of a handful of buildings in the US that is powered from multiple substations serviced from two unique power grids. This ultra-reliable power supply and redundancy means energy is available in abundant capacity for both current and future needs. New tenants will find that electrical capacity is nearly limitless.
The facility has 300,000ft┬▓ of available space, significant vacant land, plenty of open roof space, and abundant generator and HVAC areas. The building is ready to handle the needs of the most complex data center or telecom businesses. The Infomart is located in an area of low environmental risk lying outside any flood zone and is in an area not subject to other environmental hazards such as earthquakes or hurricanes.
