TEAM Companies and Iowa Health System have scheduled a later-than-planned launch date for their new data center in Waukee, Iowa. Reason for the delay: bad weather.

Equipment in the first phase of the facility will commence humming at the end of January - an event originally scheduled for December, according to a news release. Construction of the facility began in November 2008.

TEAM - an Iowa data center construction and operation company - and Iowa Health System - an integrated healthcare system that includes a number of hospitals, group practices and clinics across Iowa, Illinois and Nebraska - partnered up to build the facility in 2008. Iowa Health will house its IT infrastructure in the data center and more colocation space will be available for other customers.

The 46,000 square foot facility will be built out in three phases. Partners have invested $15 million into the project.

A grand opening ceremony will be held on Jan. 28.
