A man has been arrested under suspicion of throwing a Molotov cocktail at the home of OpenAI CEO Sam Altman.

The unidentified 20-year-old individual also allegedly threatened to burn down OpenAI’s headquarters in San Francisco.

The suspect is accused of throwing an "incendiary destructive device" at Altman's $27 million North Beach residence, "causing a fire to an exterior gate," the San Francisco Police Department said in a statement.

The man fled the scene, but his description matched that of an individual who was later found at OpenAI's HQ, threatening to set fire to the building.

"Charges are still pending at this time," SFPD said.

Possible motives for the incident have not been disclosed.
